The Retail Image Dataset:
Contains only non-personal, in-store retail photographs
Was captured lawfully in public-access retail environments
Is curated to exclude personally identifiable information (PII)
May contain incidental human presence, but this is non-identifiable and not the subject of capture
We do not collect, process, or license personal data as part of this dataset.
All dataset-related activity is conducted under the lawful basis of legitimate interest (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)) and is strictly for analytical, AI training, benchmarking, and research purposes.
Storage & Security
All dataset files are securely stored using a combination of encrypted cloud infrastructure and on-premise storage. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and protected using multi-factor authentication, role-based permissions, and routine backups. Encryption is applied at rest and in transit.
Licensing
