Ahead of the strategical announcement by Dave Lewis which is expected within the results update, post Christmas on the blog will be a the 12 days of Tesco, a strategy review per day of the various areas in which Dave Lewis may look to adjust given the leveraged position of the business.
By this, I mean the £7bn debt, £3,5bn pension deficit and a recent £800m spend which included (in the majority) an increased in staff on the floor, an issue for Tesco, for years.
£800m later and there is no real move on price so there is an obvious need to invest, money has to be found for this, as it does for other initiatives such as clearing the debt and setting the business on the right path for the future.
The first blog (no.12) will be posted on the 28th December, with a subsequent blog each day taking us up to the 8th of January.
Big year for Tesco, and a big day for Dave Lewis, with his long awaited strategy update.
